How Orange Pest Control Achieved a Surge in Organic Traffic & Conversions

Meet the Business

Orange Pest Control is a pest control company based in Mesa, Arizona. They provide services for all of usual pests (ants, wasps, cockroaches, spiders, etc.) and, being in Arizona, have special expertise with scorpions.They are known for their incredible service. They have been helping customers for years and have a perfect 5-star rating on Google, despite having over 2,600 reviews.

Marketing Goals

When we started working together, Orange Pest Control had just launched a brand new website, with an updated look and feel. Our main goals were to optimize the new website to maintain as much SEO value from their old site as possible, and to put together a robust SEO plan that would help them be discoverable by as many people as possible.

The Challenge

Anyone who has ever looked into the Arizona pest control industry knows that it is incredibly competitive. The service is in high demand and the market is stuffed with companies trying to capitalize. Since page 1 of Google (AKA the only page that anyone ever looks at) only displays 8-10 results, it was imperative for us to get Orange Pest Control’s website on that first page. With so many companies vying for those top spots, this was a tall order.

Here’s a look at how competitive some of their main keywords were:

Our Approach

In-Depth SEO Audit

We started by conducting a comprehensive audit to identify areas for growth, pinpointing specific opportunities to boost organic traffic. Since many of their main keywords were competitive, we wanted to supplement by also going after smaller, but less competitive keywords as well. Specifically, we looked into pest-related keywords for all of the cities in the valley — not just Mesa.

Content Expansion

Considering the site was brand new, we knew that we would have to build out the content a lot. We decided that we would build a page for each city in or near the valley (in total, 13 city pages), and then build a pest-specific page for each of those cities. With 7 different pest types, that came out to 91 pages total. That’s a lot of pages, but this was a long-term strategy, designed to maximize the number of keywords we would be able to effectively target.

Monthly Keyword Research

Each month, we would refresh our keyword targeting. The pest control market has a lot of seasonality, and is otherwise changing all the time, so we wanted to make sure we were staying aligned with high-intent search terms and evolving trends, ensuring continuous relevance.

Link-Building Strategy

We implemented a link-building plan to boost the authority of new pages, helping them climb in search engine rankings and attract more qualified traffic. Each month, we built new links to the new pages we were building, as well as additional links to our main target pages.

Our focused approach resulted in measurable increases across the board, illustrating the effectiveness of combining technical SEO, content optimization, and link-building strategies to drive meaningful growth.
